Introducing the Philips X11-4t mini 3D TEE
The evolution of cardiovascular ultrasound technology is a contributing factor to advanced patient care. Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) offers advanced diagnostic options, due to its minimally invasive nature, cost-effectiveness and versatility. The Philips X11-4t mini 3D TEE transducer accommodates a range of patients in need of TEE, from pediatric to older, more frail adults.
Echocardiographic improvements are intended to provide higher accuracy with less risk in both diagnosis and treatment. Pediatric cases, particularly those concerning congenital heart disease, represent an especially significant treatment gap, because until recently, TEE was unavailable to patients who weigh less than 25 kg.
On the other end of the spectrum, the growth in tricuspid valve procedures is indicative of an increase in structural heart issues in an aging population. These patients may be frail and more likely to respond negatively to prolonged intubation and general anesthesia.
In both these cases and for everyone in-between, the advent of the X11-4t, a mini 3D TEE transducer that features a small tip that fits into narrow spaces, is helping improve diagnostic and treatment accuracy. The transducer’s insertion tube features four-way articulation to allow for better imaging of the heart from multiple angles, including gastric views, to help clinicians more accurately diagnose patients with complex conditions. The small, pill-shaped tip helps to minimize intubation risks among pediatric or frail, older patients. Designed to fit within existing workflows, the X11-4t is compatible with EchoNavigator and VeriSight Pro 3D ICE Catheter, as well as the AI-driven 3D Auto Tricuspid Valve Quantification algorithm.*
